CAPTAIN DAVE
Thank you for checking out my radio station ! I dipped my toes in the internet dj waters 6 years ago and got hooked! I was so frustrated with regular radio, and even satellite radio playing the same music, that I decided to get involved and create my own music shows. I joined a cool group of DJ’s over at another station, where i created a played a new “mixed tape” every Friday night for fellow music lovers to enjoy. When things went sideways with my hook up, one of those cool dj’s ( Lex Santana ) suggested coming up with a PLAN B ! I enlisted the help of a friend ( Tim Longacre ) and created this radio station. I choose deeper cuts from rock artists ranging from the sixties to today, mix them with an occasional movie clip, often sewn into musical themes, blended to create a new musical experience every Friday. I appreciate you taking the time to find me and challenging your musical taste buds as I play the stuff you don’t often hear on the radio. THE B SIDES ! Welcome to ROCK RADIO PLAN B ! GROOVE OVERLORD
The Groove Overlord is an enthusiast for jazz, blues, reggae, funk, Afrobeat, gospel, Afro-Caribbean, and Latin American music. He deejayed jazz and blues programs on WEFT-FM in Champaign, IL, in the 1990s and produced and hosted “House of Funk” for one year on Hot Rocks Radio. With experience playing in Afro-Pop, Balinese gamelan, Middle Eastern, Korean drumming, reggae, and Chinese music ensembles, the GO plays currently bass and ‘ukulele in the Jazz in Progress Big Band and Wild Blue Ukulele Orchestra, while daylighting as a university professor.
MARTY MARR
I have a passion for music of all Genres. I like pop, rock, country, and more. I got started at another station years ago, took a break due to changes in my work schedule, and then returned years later. My DJ name, Marty Marr, came from an old DJ friend that I knew who started calling me that and it stuck. The Marty Marr Show is based on music with meaning and will make you feel good. An avid concert goer, I love live shows, fishing, working in the yard, grilling and listening to music ! Stop by and check out my show airing frequently on Mondays and Wednesdays, 11 – 2pm central and 2-5pm cst on Sundays.
